Below is an aerial photo taken of Lakeside Speedway on July 4th. As you can see the property is devastated by the flooding of the Missouri River. The 2011 racing season is definitely in doubt. Which is also quite devastating. Obviously this is a natural disaster.President Obama has already declared Kansas, a natural disaster State as of June 25th. This has to happen before Counties can apply for FEMA relief. To date, Wyandotte County has not been declared a disaster, so no relief is available at this time. This is more than discouraging. We kindly ask you to join us in placing pressure on our elected officials to help secure this disaster declaration. You can email our Congressman, Kevin Yoder at : yoder.house.gov. and Governor Brownback at Governor@ks.gov. (a prayer or two wouldn't hurt either).
